Born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, Marianne Tauber studied Romance Languages at the Universities of Zurich and Madrid before marrying into a Jungian family who had entertained personal and professional ties with C.G. Jung from 1946 on—an influence that would last throughout her life. Her husband’s career as a transplant surgeon brought the young family to New York City in 1971; they became citizens in the Bicentennial year.
Marianne is now a California licensed psychotherapist with a doctorate in clinical depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She presently lives and works in Los Angeles, has presented her book in the US and Europe, and leads workshops.

Several fairy tales originating in different regions (America, Europe, Africa and Eastern countries) were analyzed. Each one of these tales illustrates how the unconscious symbolizes the ordeals the feminine principle has gone through (and still goes through!) in the collective consciousness, as well as how the unconscious may deal with it.
