Professor Hamilton’s Passage to India

In 1975, Dr. Charles Hamilton, Professor of Infectious Diseases from a respected medical school in the U.S. visited India after receiving a substantial research grant. There he was invited by several institutes to visit and lecture. He accepted the invitations gladly and hoped to explore the possibility of his return for an extended stay to gather valuable data for his research.

Previously, Dr. Hamilton had been fascinated by India while on brief visits to attend conferences in New Delhi and Bombay. For the kind of research he intended to perform regarding parasitic diseases, he would have to live in the rural areas. Th is exploration exposed Charles Hamilton to a host of problems, complications, and surprises far beyond his medical research, or wildest dreams.
